Description

This course equips student to analyse skilled performance in both a team and individual setting using a range of equipment and methodologies. Successful students will be able to carry out tests from the setup through to datataking and offline analysis in both lab environments and in the field. Students will learn to handle large data sets using both Excel features such as pivot tables, and Access databases, and to carry out analysis of data from single and repeated tests.

Workshop Reports 10% Due at weekly workshops.
Assignment 06 Apr 2016 45% For a specific sport, review literature on advanced Key Performance Indicators. Discuss and perform notational and software analysis to capture these KPIs using tactical assessments with one specific event including implementation of a code window. Provide a self-reflection on this process.
Assignment & Presentation 01 Jun 2016 45% Review and discuss methods and best practices to communicate information and feedback to team and players for preparation and post-game phases. Present a performance analysis presentation for a team or an individual for a specific sport (in class) and provide a self-reflection report.

Attendance

We strongly advise that you participate in all the course learning activities provided on Learn. We also suggest that you communicate with the course lecturer on a regular basis as required to ensure that you are able to demonstrate an understanding of all the learning outcomes. Insufficient participation in the course may jeopardise your ability to pass the course.

Resubmissions

To pass this course you are required to gain an overall average grade of C- (50%) or better across all assessments. No resubmits are available for this course. This assessment procedure applies from 2015 onwards.

Where to submit and collect work

Hard Copy Submission for ON Campus Students
On campus students assignments are to be submitted with a cover sheet to the School of Sport & Physical Education office, (behind the Rec Centre) by 5.00pm, or time directed by course lecturer, on or before the due date. Please use the drop box placed at the entrance to School office.

Marked assignments will be returned directly from the lecturer.  

Electronic Submission via LEARN (all on campus and distance students)
All students must submit their assessment via the online assessment system in the Learn (Moodle) class site, on or before the due date.  All submitted assessment work will be screened by the software Turnitin, to check for plagiarism.  There is opportunity for student to submit a draft report to monitor levels of plagiarism prior to the final submission for marking.

It is the responsibility of the students to check their Internet access and ability to submit their work via the online system.  Any technical difficulties should be notified well in advance of the due date so that assistance can be provided or alternative arrangements can be negotiated.
