This course develops students' capability to learn in, through and about the sport & exercise sciences and translate this knowledge into quality learning experiences. Students will consider theories of learning and consider their relevance in creating quality learning experiences within Health & Physical Education in the New Zealand Curriculum. There is a strong focus on critical analysis and application of knowledge.
By the end of this course, successful students will be able to:1. Describe the key areas of learning in the NZPE curriculum2. Create lesson plans based on the key areas of learning in the NZPE curriculum3. Differentiate between the various PE learning theories and instructional models4. Create PE lesson plans based on sports and exercise science topics5. Deliver PE lesson plans using different learning theories on sports & exercise science topics
