This course provides students with an overview of normal speech sound development and then focuses on speech transcription (using the International Phonetic Alphabet) and speech sound disorders, both articulatory and phonological in nature. Class sessions include speech transcription practice and case-based learning to evaluate assessment methods and evidence-based intervention strategies for childhood speech sound disorders.
