Description

This MBA-level course helps develop the leadership capabilities needed to steward Aotearoa New Zealand's sport system ethically and effectively. Across four modules, students learn to (1) read and influence complex systems in the NZ sport context (Sport NZ, High Performance Sport NZ (HPSNZ), National Sporting Organisations (NSO's) and Regional Sports Trust Networks (RST's) through a systems thinking approach; (2) lead learning cultures and strengthen governance, integrity and duty of care; (3) evaluate neuroscience-informed tools for improved decision-making and leading under pressure; and (4) explore digital, data and AI intitiatives that create responsible value for participants, athletes and fans. Learning is applied and board-facing and assessment tasks culminate in a professional artefact.
