Probability Theory
This course gives an introduction to the ideas and methods of probability, covering a selection of the following topics:• Fundamentals of probability• Discrete and continuous random variables• How to analyse populations, contagious processes and extinction events with birth-death processes and branching processes• How to model systems under the influence of chance using Random walks, Markov chains, Poisson processes and Queuing processes
After this course, you will understand how probability theory is used in a variety of contexts in, e.g., engineering, biology, physics, machine learning, and economics.
