Description

This course introduces and explores a variety of early childhood educational contexts, philosophies and approaches. These will inform students as they work alongside family and whanau to provide teaching and learning experiences for infants and toddlers.

Learning Outcomes

On the successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Examine curriculum, pedagogies and philosophies that construct early childhood experiences for ngā pēpi and ngā pēpi nohinohi aged under three in Aotearoa New Zealand.
2. Critically reflect on the significance of working in partnership with whānau in the education and care of ngā pēpi and kohungahunga in Aotearoa New Zealand.
3. Critically reflect on early transitions into and between ECE contexts for ngā pēpi and kohungahunga and their family/whānau/ aiga.
4. Develop an intentional and developmentally appropriate range of pedagogical strategies and resources to facilitate effective learning for ngā pēpi and kohungahunga
