Description

This compulsory course will prepare students to design and implement literacy programmes and teach languages other than English. The students will be introduced to contemporary theories which underpin effective literacy and language learning and teaching. The course develops strategies for planning, implementing and evaluating an effective literacy programme. The course will also introduce students to new pedagogical strategies for incorporating languages other than English into their teaching programmes. Approaches used in current practice will be examined within the context of meeting individual learning needs.
