This course involves a three-week tour to Indigenous communities and organisations across Australia and North America to research comparative approaches to Indigenous development and engage directly with an international network of Indigenous peoples. Student will be required to write a briefing paper, keep a reflective journal during the tour and, at the end of the course, report on the tools and approaches identified through the international tour that may have application in a New Zealand context and the adaptation that would be required for cultural and contextual fit. This course is part of the Master of Maori and Indigenous Leadership degree.
