Description

An intensive beginner's course in Maori language for those with no previous background in Te Reo Maori. Students will learn basic informal and formal greetings, introductory songs, proverbs, idiom, including a variety from Ngai Tahu, how to introduce themselves, express family relationships and the course will enable them to hold a basic conversation. This is a highly recommended language option for those who might work with Maori people or who just wish to familiarise themselves with the language. Students who have been credited with higher level TREO language courses cannot credit TREO 110. Students with prior knowledge or who are literate and/or fluent speakers of Te Reo may not enrol in this course without the permission of the Programme Director.
