This course is for approved students participating in Frontiers Abroad only. Engaging with Aotearoa serves as a foundational academic experience for students who are participating in Frontiers Abroad’s Rediscovering New Zealand: Communities, Culture & Landscapes track at the University of Canterbury. By participating in this course, students share a unique educational experience, rooted in Aotearoa culture - a culture that embraces a love for the outdoors, a concern for the environment, and a village-like infrastructure where personal responsibility is coupled with social accountability. Interdisciplinary in nature, it is designed to bring students out of the classroom and into local communities to engage in immersive, transformative experiences and activities that challenge students’ perceptions of New Zealand and the world, with a focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Approved students from the Frontiers Abroad Programme only; Head of Deparment approval is mandatory.
