Description

This course considers the general principles of contract law and the concepts of consumer law.

If a person has agreed to purchase a property, is he or she obliged to complete the purchase? Does the same conclusion apply to the purchase of a car? Are there strategies a person can employ to withdraw from a contract? ACCT252 provides the answers to these and many other questions.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course it is expected that the student will be able to:
1.  Acuqire knowledge and understanding of the foundation elements of contract law.
2.  Demonstrate the ability to use analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address contract problems.
3.  Communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
4.  Develop an appreciation of the importance of contract law in a professional environment.
5.  Critically evaluate particular areas of contract law, draw conclusions as to their effectiveness and fairness and consider whether reform is desirable.
