Description

An introduction to the biology of humans. The course is particularly recommended for students wishing to advance in topics in health and sport, as well as those students advancing in science subjects.

Human Biology is an introductory course that looks at the biology of Homo sapiens from a number of different viewpoints. Much of the course is devoted to the human body and how it functions, from an overview of the body as a “typical” mammalian vertebrate down to the actions of individual cells and even individual molecules. However, a significant section of the course looks at how humans have affected the biology of the planet and how this then feeds back to affect the humans that caused the changes, and how modern technology has the potential to alter this.
