This is a Digital Screen foundational course exploring the history, movements, and styles of storytelling across various screen formats (including film, animation, and games). The course develops students’ storytelling skills, with an emphasis on modes, genre conventions, themes, art movements, design, character development, and, most importantly, creative voice. Students will also consider alternative narrative models to the dominant entertainment styles of screen storytelling. In the process, students will explore their own storytelling voice in relation to world views.
