This course focuses on concept development, narrative design and production design activities that support storytelling and audience engagement across multiple platforms. Through a combination of lectures, practical workshops and creative assignments, we will be exploring the potential for coherent and flexible story worlds to provide a unified foundation for films, video games and adjacent media including novels, picture books, episodic web series, tabletop RPG settings, toys and merchandise, as well as looking at industry standards and expectations for pitching, funding proposals, and managing intellectual property.
