Description

Exploration of a variety of filmmaking practices with an emphasis on creative approaches. Students will learn to extend their knowledge, and skill sets with a deeper understanding of aesthetics. An emphasis will also be placed on ethical and community-based filmmaking. Compulsory attendance required for all classes.

Learning Outcomes

  • Display advanced proficiency in using the tools of film production, primarily lights, camera, lens and microphones, and apply them in assignments.
  • Show confidence in a variety of roles and responsibilities within the film crew (DOP, camera operator, focus puller, grip, gaffer, sound designer and recordist, boom operator, clapper).
  • Offer constructive feedback to other projects and exercises in development.
  • Engage with feedback, reflecting on how it can be used in the adaptation process
