This course critically examines and applies sport coaching pedagogy (learning theories, preferences and instructional models) to the sport environment.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:Critically reflect on the theory to practice gap.Critically reflect on your philosophy of quality coaching.Analyse and critique learning preferences.Understand and analyse multiple intelligences.Relate learning theories to the practice of coaching.Critically analyse coaching models (including Cooperative Learning and Sport Education models.Critically analyse socio-cultural influences on the coaching and Learning environmentPlan, implement and evaluate a further range of coaching models and methods.Demonstrate ability to plan and reflect on a full season for a specific sport.Critically reflect on factors that contribute to a positive team environment/cultureDemonstrate an understanding of and critically reflect theoretical positions of learning in relation to teaching/coaching models.
