Description

An overview of the effectiveness of the interventions and therapies commonly used in the treatment of various childhood disorders.

This course, which follows on directly from EDUC612 Disorders of Childhood, provides an overview of the main interventions, therapies and treatments which have been developed for common childhood disorders.  The course covers interventions for children with phobias, anxiety disorders, depression, behaviour problems, learning difficulties, speech and language disorders, autism, and intellectual disabilities.  It also covers the criteria which are used in evaluating the effectiveness of interventions; and the important characteristics of effective interventions.

Prerequisites

Subject to approval of the Head of School.
