Description

This course provides an opportunity to develop an advanced understanding of child development research and theory and its application to children in a range of applied settings. Students will gain knowledge and skills in the conduct of development and family assessments, and undertake a supervised child development study.

The aim of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to develop an advanced understanding of child development research and theory and, in particular, its application to children in a range of applied settings, including the family, health, forensic, education and other contexts.  Students will also have an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in the conduct of developmental and family assessments and will undertake a supervised, comprehensive child development study.  This course is designed for individuals who are working with (or intend to work with) children and families in health, education or other applied settings or who wish to pursue a research career in the areas of child health, developmental or educational psychology.
