Description

Engineering economics, project management, professional report writing, project research methods, and safety in the process industry.

Learning Outcomes

  • LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • Be able to estimate the capital cost of a chemical engineering process
  • Understand the time value of money as it is applied to investment decision
  • Be able to evaluate the economic worth of a chemical engineering process
  • Understand some ethical problems that might affect chemical engineers
  • Knowledge of process design software using SuperPro Designer as an example
  • Be able to apply control strategies to a plant design
  • Be able to apply hazard identification methods and risk estimation techniques


    RELATION TO OTHER COURSES
    This is a compulsory course. This course is a prerequisite for ENCH494.
