This is an introductory course for students who have no previous knowledge of French. It is the first course in a sequence of seven French language acquisition courses offered by the school.
FREN121 is for outright beginners or for people who have done only a minimal amount of French at school (Year 9 or 10). It is NOT for students who have done three or more years of French at school.
As a student in this course you will acquire skills in all four areas of the French language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.FREN121 provides a preliminary course to enable you to:read French at a beginner's level;speak and understand French at a beginner's level;develop a sympathetic and informed understanding of the ways of thought and forms of expression of the French;develop the personal skill of awareness of this foreign language;acquire sufficient language skills in order to proceed to FREN122.
