The course will be taught collaboratively with the National Addiction Centre (Department of Psychological Medicine, Christchurch School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Otago).  By the end of HLTH431/631/PSMX431 course, students will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the application of motivational interviewing in a wide variety of clinical settings and demonstrate an ability to apply the principles of motivational interviewing in clinical practice.
