This course examines how organisations manage risk and eSecurity associated with their information systems. Topics include management, analysis and application of secure e-Business systems including security policy and network management.

Learning Outcomes

  • By the end of this course the student should be able to:
  • Have an understanding of the role and impact of IS risk and security management in modern firms.
  • Design and apply key security and data management concepts, components, technologies and selection criteria associated with the use of IS in the modern firm.
  • Develop an information security and disaster recovery policy.
  • Discuss key issues associated with managing IS in the modern firm, including the security and ethical problems they pose.
