The course focuses on organisational leadership, structures and IT management processes to support and sustain business strategies. It examines important concepts and models related to managing IT such as IT strategy, IT planning, IT alignment and IT evaluation. The course provides students with knowledge and skills to be able to make useful contributions to a range of IT related decisions in organisations.
The course introduces important concepts and models related to managing IT. We expect students to demonstrate their understanding of this knowledge in a number of ways. By the end of the course you will be able to: 1. Explain important IT concepts, especially IT strategy, IT value, IT planning, IT alignment and IT evaluation.2. Analyse complex business situations to identify and evaluate IT alternatives, and make informed recommendations.3. Effectively communicate knowledge of IT governance and strategy in writing.
This course will provide students with an opportunity to develop the Graduate Attributes specified below:
