JAPA 142 continues on from JAPA 141. By the end of the course students should be able to understand and actively use basic modern Japanese grammar and vocabulary and read and write the kana syllabaries and approximately 170 kanji characters.
JAPA141 (Level 2 NCEA with 15 credits or above in Japanese) or equivalent. Direct entry without the prerequisite is through a placement test and approval of the Programme Director.
