Procedure on indictment and summary procedure (excluding evidence).THE AIMS OF THE COURSE are:• to give students a critical understanding of the main features of the criminal law of New Zealand;• to introduce students to the main features of legal procedure relevant to criminal cases;• to introduce students to issues to be considered in any reform of the criminal law.
THE OBJECTS OF THE COURSE are: to allow students to develop an ability to appreciate how, and in what circumstances the legal principles of the criminal law apply; to allow students to understand the impact of existing rules of law or proposed changes.
