Description

Honours Research Paper

This research-based course involves taking the preparatory material from LAWS410 and writing an 8,000 word research paper on an agreed legal topic. Students also will make an oral presentation based on their final papers, defending the conclusions of their research in a formal seminar.

Learning Outcomes

  • At the completion of the course, students should be able to:
  • Describe a particular legal problem and, if appropriate, the relevant law; and
  • Describe, evaluate and, if appropriate, formulate possible solutions to the legal problem identified.

The assessment for this course may consist of two items, a research paper, worth 90% of the total course assessment, and a research paper seminar presentation, worth 10% of the total course assessment.

The assessment will be confirmed at the commencement of the course.
