Description

An introduction to Maori culture, society and heritage including: the origins of the Polynesians, traditional navigation, the renaissance of voyaging; Maori astronomy; a Maori geography of the North and South Islands; lore of the natural world; social organisation; the meeting house and customary practice; spiritual beliefs; Maori arts, creation traditions; the demigods Maui and Tawhaki; and selected tribal histories.
