Description

The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) is an advanced, independent practice-led research programme which can be completed full time over one year/12 months, or part time over two years/24 months. MFA courses are offered in Graphic Design, Film, Painting, Photography and Sculpture. By the end of this program, you will have developed a final body of creative work backed up by comprehensive documentation, plus a 10,000-word research paper that interrogates and situates the practice within a critical, contextual, theoretical and practical sphere. This course is for applicants who wish to further develop their creative practice in an advanced research based academic environment and make genuine contributions to the discipline they are engaged in. You will develop work independently within a collaborative cross-disciplinary studio environment, under the supervision of School of Fine Arts staff. Research trajectories are developed in consultation with a supervisory team (Primary and Co- Supervisors). Initial direction is founded on a research proposal submitted as application for entry to the course.
