Description

The study of the principles, values, ethics, concepts and skills related to social work with individuals, families, groups and communities within a systems framework. Considers the main-stream approaches to inter-personal helping, advocacy, brokerage, and change-agent roles, to assist students to develop a framework for practice. Taught by practice stream teachers.

Prerequisites

102 points in SOWK, and must meet the minimum requirements for Group B and Group C courses from the BSW degree. 116 points from Group B (elective courses). 18 points from Group C (optional courses).

SOWK308. For students undertaking part time study, SOWK301 together with SOWK308 must be completed in the last two years of study.
