Description

A language course following on from SPAN 101, for those with limited knowledge of Spanish.

SPAN102 is a half-year language course designed to introduce the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures to beginner students. This paper does require the knowledge of the Spanish language taught in SPAN101. The course is based on a communicative approach to language learning. All four of the basic communication skills will continue to be developed, and the student will practice reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The goal of SPAN102 is to offer the student the opportunity to continue acquiring initial knowledge of the Spanish language and an appreciation of different Hispanic cultures as well as to advance in their ability to perform basic communication exercises in Spanish in different contexts. At the end of this semester students should be able to use simple structures and perform basic meaningful interactions for real-life situations.
