Description

The aim of this course is to give students advanced proficiency in Spanish across the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing). The course also introduces students to the history and culture of the different Hispanic countries. By the end of this course students will be able to recognise a variety of discourses and idiomatic expressions as well as communicate at an advanced level in Spanish.

The main objective of SPAN301 is to give students advanced proficiency in Spanish across the four skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).  This course also consists of four main components: the practice of the complex aspects of Spanish grammar, the development of effective writing skills, training in cultural and literary readings, and the improvement of speaking fluidity.  Grammar is taught in a cultural content-based approach where students' linguistic skills will be improved and reinforced through extended reading and writing assignments.

NOTE:
This is an advanced language course following on from SPAN202.
