Description

A second level beginners' course in Maori language. Students learn a range of more complex constructions and extend their vocabulary, enabling them to talk and write about future events, incorporating commands, passives, negatives, categories of possession and possessive sentences and pronouns.

Learning Outcomes

  • By the end of this course students will be:
  • able to conduct an everyday conversation
  • able to use and understand an increasing range of sentence structures
  • familiar with an increasing range of vocabulary
  • able to recite appropriate karakia, hÄ«mene and waiata

Prerequisites

TREO111, or
MAOR111, or
MAOR124 or MAOR125 or 18 credits in NCEA Te Reo Maori level 1, mostly excellence, or
a pass in a school placement test, or
by permission of Head of School
