Description

Biology of marine invertebrates with emphasis on structure and function, life histories, behaviour and ecology.

Emphasis will be on the biology of marine organisms with an emphasis on marine invertebrates, biodiversity and marine habitats.

Includes a five day field trip to Kaikoura. Trip 1: 5th - 9th April or Trip 2: 22nd - 26 April, Trip 3 (if needed) 9th - 13th April (Easter).

Prerequisites

(1) BIOL113 or BIOL114; (2) BIOL111 or BIOL112.

Notes

In BIOL212, a student must normally pass the course as a whole (>50%) and reach a satisfactory (45%) level in the essay, practical report and the final exam.
