Description

An introduction to Software Engineering and the issues of developing large, complex software systems.

Software Engineering is a disciplined approach to designing, developing, and maintaining software. This course introduces current software engineering techniques and addresses the issues of developing large, complex software systems.

Major topics include an overview of software engineering; products and processes; requirements analysis; software design; validation and verification; project management.

Prerequisites

(1) COSC121 or COSC123; (2) COSC122; (3) 18 points from Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering Mathematics. MATH101 is not acceptable. MATH115/STAT131/STAT111/STAT112 are strongly recommended.
