The Applied Marketing Project is designed to provide applied research project based learning experiences within the Business Taught Masters programme. This course offers an overview of research process and select methods and their application in marketing. The course builds on the foundations of marketing (MBUS601) and deepens students' understanding of select research techniques. The course consists of in-class time and students' own research time. Students will be required to conduct, report on and present their own research as a professional practitioner would.

Show evidence of advanced knowledge of select marketing research methods.Demonstrate evidence of applying that knowledge when selecting appropriate marketing research methods and conducting an applied marketing research project as a professional practitioner would.Evaluate critically the findings of an applied marketing research project.Analyse the results of an applied market research project to draw sound evidence based conclusions.Work independently on an unfamiliar situation in the context of marketing research.Undertake a process of self-reflection on the nature of ‘knowledge’ and ‘norms’.Demonstrate knowledge of indigenous models of development, knowledge and behaviour, based on a process of cultural contextualisation.Application of cultural competence and confidence in the field of applied marketing research.
