An introductory course in OM which provides an overview of topics fundamental to Supply Chain Management: operations strategy, strategic capacity planning, logistics, facility location, data management and forecasting. Ideas from these topics are then integrated via the playing of The Supply Chain Game.
Operations Management (OM) deals with managing production of goods and the provision of services while achieving organisational goals through being efficient and effective in their market. Every type of organisation, from large car manufacturers through to sports clubs, has an OM function and can therefore benefit from effective management of its operations. LO1.
