Description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of logistics and retail distribution, focusing on the strategies and challenges involved in efficiently moving goods from manufacturers to consumers while integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Students will explore how firms' structure and coordinate their distribution networks to ensure products reach consumers effectively while balancing cost, service levels, and market responsiveness. The course highlights the role of technology, consumer behaviour, and supply chain partnerships in shaping modern retail distribution strategies, with a focus on New Zealand’s unique geographic, regulatory, and market challenges.
