Description

Advanced Strategic Management

This course examines Strategic Management within a framework in which ‘strategy’ and its ‘management’ are purposeful processes linked to the performance of the organisation.   The main themes developed in the course are those of business-level strategy; corporate strategy; implementation; and issues of corporate governance.

Learning Outcomes

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the content and methods of current research in Strategic Management and, where appropriate, to the antecedents of this research. The objective is to take students from the detail of individual studies to a conceptual understanding of the leading edges of research and thinking in the area so that they can identify opportunities for further research. Case study classes are intended to illustrate the practical application of the material.
