Description

Sculpture 3

SCUL311 is a year long course with specific emphasis on the development of practice based research within the studio context, and will afford the student the opportunity to develop a large-scale body of studio work. In the first semester, students will be assigned the broad framework for a project and a set of loosely prescribed outcomes in which to define a course an individual study. In the second semester, students will negotiate a wholly individual course of study with their studio lecturer in the form of a Directed Research Proposal (DRP.)

Learning Outcomes

Students who pass SCUL 311 will:

2. Understand how to engage in primary and secondary research specifically for the purposes of project-based and practice-led research;
3. Know how to frame, propose, manage and develop a medium-scale practice-based/led research project;
