Description

English writing skills assessment. Electronic circuit simulation followed by a design-and-build project including circuit design and simulation, printed circuit board design, and construction of a working device with documentation. CAD draughting, basic operation and draughting, drawing aids, editing, creating objects, projections, adding text, dimensioning, use of standard parts. Documentation preparation. Project management skills and software. Case Study.

Prerequisites

Subject to approval of the Dean of Engineering and Forestry.

Timetable Note

The laboratories are held on Mondays from 2-5pm in the Glade (E217).  This is located on the second floor, above the cafeteria. The Grotto (E222) also has computers available.

NOTE:  Some Computer Engineering students will have elected to enrol on COSC224 (semester 1) and COSC227 (semester 2).  These courses have a lecture on Monday afternoons at 3-4pm.  Therefore, Computer Engineering students are invited to attend the ENEL211 lab from 1-3pm on Mondays instead of 2-5pm.

100% on internal assessment pass/fail.  The course comprises four sections (English Writing Skills, Engineering CAD, PSpice for circuit design, design project), and students must pass all sections to achieve an overall pass in the subject.
